None of us have time in class to focus on basic facts, but when
students know them they are able to understand so much more because they are
not taking time for simple calculations. Factoring polynomials becomes easier,
the faster you can add and multiply, but how do we give students the tools to
improve these skills? Try an app like Math
Practice Flash Cards!
And what do you do when you have a classroom of 40 freshmen with
questions about Algebra and parents at home that might not be able to help
them? There’s an app for that too! Here are just a few of my favorites:
What about when your budget doesn’t allow for each student to have
their own graphing calculator. There are several apps for calculators, this is
the one I use Graphing
Calculator, but try several, or have your students try several and review
them, get creative!
And finally, flash cards that you can create yourself or find existing
decks that help with what you are studying from Dictionary.com
Flashcards!
No matter what you teach, there’s an app to help. Since our students
are never without our phones we can help them find ways to never be without
learning either!
